Having collected experiences in organization of residency programs during long term cooperation with The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) I am really excited to participate in a new project – Residency Network Hub for Cultural Intermediaries starting with a kick off meeting next week in St. Petersburg.
The core idea of the project is to cooperate between Barents regions and selected residency partners from the Baltic region through exchange periods for intermediaries (producers, curators, managers, residency actors) in selected residencies. The project aims to create synergy between North Calotte-, Barents Region-, Nordic Region cultural cooperation and Northern Dimension partnership on culture by activating cultural intermediaries which will promote long term mobility of artists, art productions and exhibitions within the region.
First session in St. Petersburg will be an integral part of Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture (NDPC) international seminar – Culture as a tool for economic growth. Sessions will also include information about different sources of funding for networking and mobility (e.g. ENI Kolarctic and Karelia -programs, CIMO: Creative Europe -program, NDPC special funds etc).
